Fear Factor Challenge

Posted by Picasa
At the beginning of the term the students chose a goal to particpate in once they had got all 80 teddies from one jar to another for great behaviour; having an excellent attitude towards theirs and others work; on task behaviour; good manners and basically being fantastic kids. They achieved this goal and so set about completing the FEAR FACTOR 'FOOD' CHALLENGE.
This was an amazing sight to both see and hear, and for them taste!
There were 4 teams of 5. Each team member was given a number between 1-5 and this number corresponded to a bowl of covered food. Their challenge as a team was to consume part of this food and then the next person could begin consuming their food.
As the first bowl of food was being uncovered a huge roar of discust was let loose, screwed up noses and faces appeared, and many comments like "there's no way I'm eating that", "yuck no way", "I can't believe I've got to even touch that" were heard loud and clear.
As you can see and imagine from the images above the challenges were hard and the food was discusting.
There were sheep intenstines (noodles with red food colouring), 50 year old fish (dace), sheep brains (crab fish balls), cow osoephagus (bamboo shoots) and ocean seaweed roots (salted turnips).
There were some real stars during this challenge. Elizabeth was incredible eating alot of the 50 year old fish and Tyrone had to do 2 challenges as their team only had 4 people in it. Dylan paid Jorjiah $5:00 to do his challenge and others took ages to taste just the smallest piece of food.
All in all it was an amazing challenge that we will not forget for a long time.
I think the class is quite relieved tha their next goal is to go to Daytona Raceway.

Fame 2009 movie trailer

Abba's Super Trouper

I've started a blog that I'm going to use with Room 6 in my literacy class. I'm excited about this. The class will really like it and it will provide them with another tool to use during the moring programme.
